Day 1: Old Town and Plainpalais district

Start your day by visiting Saint Pierre Cathedral in the Old Town. You can climb one of its towers and admire Geneva from its viewpoint, with breathtaking views of the rooftops and the lake. Then, let yourself be carried away by the picturesque alleys, passing through Bourg-de-Four, Place des Canons, and Promenade de la Treille, home to the longest bench in the world.

Continue your stroll to the lively and welcoming Plainpalais neighborhood. Here you will find numerous museums: the Rath Museum, the Patek Philippe Museum, or the Museum of Ethnography, depending on your interests. The neighborhood also hosts lively markets: a flea market on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and a food market on Sundays.
At the end of the day, head to Rue de l'École-de-Médecine, a must-visit spot for locals, to enjoy a drink in a friendly atmosphere.

Day 2: Visit to humanitarian Geneva and tour of the harbor

Start the day with a visit to the Red Cross and Red Crescent Museum, located in the United Nations district. On the way, you can stop at the Palais des Nations to admire the impressive flag alley and the famous Broken Chair sculpture. It is even possible to visit the interior of the UN, for an immersion in the heart of international diplomacy.

Lake Geneva

Then head down to Lake Geneva and visit the Pâquis district, ideal for lunch by the water, with a relaxed and cosmopolitan atmosphere.

After your break, walk along the lake and cross the Mont-Blanc Bridge to reach the English Garden and its flower clock, then admire the famous Jet d'Eau, symbol of Geneva. Continue your stroll to La Grange Park, known for its magnificent rose garden, and end the day in the lively Eaux-Vives district.

CERN is one of the world's largest scientific research centers. It studies particle physics, and it was here that the World Wide Web was invented. You can visit the permanent exhibition Microcosm, or Universe of Particles, to better understand the mysteries of the universe. Guided tours (free but in high demand) allow you to go behind the scenes of modern science.

The Salève

Nicknamed the "balcony of Geneva," Salève is located just across the border in Haute-Savoie, France. Accessible by cable car in just a few minutes or on foot in 1.5 hours, it offers spectacular panoramic views of Geneva, Lake Geneva, and, on clear days, Mont Blanc. It is an ideal spot for a stroll, a picnic, or even activities such as hiking, climbing, and paragliding.

The Botanical Garden

Located near the lake and the Nations, the Conservatory and Botanical Garden is a peaceful haven covering more than 28 hectares. It is home to over 12,000 species of plants, tropical greenhouses, an alpine garden, and a small animal park. It is the perfect place for a peaceful stroll, far from the hustle and bustle of the city.

The Museum of Art and History

This museum, one of the most important in Switzerland, brings together rich and varied collections: archaeology, fine arts, objets d'art, and numismatics. Visitors can admire works ranging from antiquity to modern art, including paintings by European masters, Egyptian artifacts, and magnificent medieval objects. Admission to the permanent collection is free.
